Please take the time to read about these features and how you can play your part in helping our environment whilst on holidays.

FEATURES INSTALLED
  • A 23,650 litre rainwater tank has been installed, supplying the entire home. Once the rainwater has been consumed, mains water is supplied to the house until the tank is replenished.
  • Sisalation (reflective foil laminate insulation) has been installed in the roof to assist with improving energy efficiency and reducing green house emissions. It is estimated that for every 150m2 of Sisalation installed as sarking or wall wrap that between 250kg to 500kg of carbon dioxide emissions are saved per annum. Sisalation does not contain any ozone depleting substances.
  • Insulation has also been installed to both the roof, external walls and internal walls, making the house cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter, and reducing your energy bills.

  • Premium blockout window treatments have been installed to all windows to control the gain or loss of heat and cold through the windows. In a typical insulated house 40% of the energy loss is through your windows.

  • Environmentally friendly landscaping has been designed and installed with an awareness of the climate, geography, natural resources and wildlife taken into account. For example, drought tolerant plants have been installed to reduce the amount of water consumption. A pergola has also been installed by the rear sliding doors, to not only create an enjoyable outdoor entertainment area, but to also protect the sliding doors from heat in Summer.

  • Dual flush toilets have been installed to both the bathroom and ensuite.

  • Water saving shower heads have been installed to both the bathroom and ensuite.

  • Energy saving light bulbs have been installed to all rooms.

 WHAT YOU CAN DO
  • As we all do at home, reduce the time you spend in the shower.
  • Ensure the dishwasher is full before running a cycle. Run shorter cycles for less soiled dishes and glasses.

  • When washing beach towels, only run a rinse cycle and hang them up to dry in the sun.

  • Keep the window blinds closed at all times during hot summer days and open during colder days.

  • The air-conditioner will only operate effectively with the temperature set at 23C. At all times, ensure it is not set below 23C and turned 'off' when the house in unoccupied.

  • Only turn on lights when required and turn off when leaving a room or departing from the house.

  • For your convenience, an extra wheelie bin is supplied for all your recycled waste. Please use these effectively by rinsing all containers prior to placing in the wheelie bin.

  • Before leaving ensure you go through the 'Departing Checklist'.
